Project duration: May 2004- May 2005
The project is focused on motivating the members of local communities to participate more actively in municipal work. At the end of the project the target group will acquire practical knowledge, based on equal opportunities for men and women. The particularity of the project lies in direct influence on the decision-making process by regional local communities and their members.
The Project draws not so much on the quantity of communities, as on the beneficial activities that make a significant societal impact and reduce social exclusion. The main activities of the project are five educational seminars with workshops and two “homework” seminars (based on home tasks of the participants for creating the equality act plan) in three communities of the Moletai region. It’s Dubingiai, Balninkai and Inturke.
During the workshops the participants will gain experience on gender system conception, on the capacity to determinate such problems as negative unbalanced advocacy for both men and women, mistaken equal opportunities realisation and implementation.
